Medlogia is engaging in a little-explored area of research: the root system of the hemp plant.
In a departure from the more common leaf and flower focus, we’re exploring the sub-soil properties of hemp. The Tierra research project examines the chemical properties in the rhizosphere – the layer between plant and roots where bacteria, fungus and microbiomes connect and communicate.
The root system has long played a role in traditional holistic medicine across the globe, but little research has been conducted in this area. Native Americans believed the root system to be as effective as the plant's more widely explored trichome. We are committed to furthering scientific research into the efficacy of hemp's root system.
